Sopwith Camel
In Memory of John D. Rinaldi

In 1989 my father took on the challenge of building a full-size Sopwith Camel biplane replica. He worked hard on this project for several years. Unfortunately, he died in 1999, with his project nearly finished.

Three years later, I was fortunate enough to be able to spend the time to finish this airplane in my father’s memory. It now sits at the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon.

From the Metal Shop

I’ve been doing some metal sculpture here on Maui in a shop that I set up in Haiku. This is a blacktip reef shark sculpture that I made from 20 gauge steel sheet. Its currently hanging in the lobby of the Maui Ocean Center aquarium. I had visited the aquarium quite a bit to observe the real sharks, and formed this one from my own drawings.

Lake Powell 2008 – The Balls II

We all had a great time on this trip. Five days on Lake Powell with buddies from all over the country. Thanks again to Zeke Berresford “The Skipper” for putting this trip together.
