The engine is mounted on a test stand. The entire engine rotates, which is why the spark plug leads are straight wires, running from what is effectively the distributor (which also rotates). Accessories are behind (to the left of) the front mounting plate. These do not rotate. The engine has dual ignition (two spark plugs per cylinder and two independent magnetos). Pretty advanced for the time. Another remarkable thing about this engine is the single valve on the top of each cylinder, operated by the pushrod in the front. This valve is both an intake and an exhaust valve. There is no exhaust system or muffler. Nor is there a carbuerator. This thing runs wide open, is very noisy, and throws hot oil all over the place. Fun, huh?
